Here on the G-T sports desk, a lot of high school results pass through my hands on their way to our pages in print and online.
With that in mind, I thought I’d recognize some of our top performances.
So, here are some athletes who caught my eye from Friday night’s games.
Top female performance
So far this season, Tegan Grunwald is most often the first player mentioned in Philomath High girls basketball stories. But tonight, one of her teammates, Alison Jensen, had a great night in the team’s 50-40 victory over Elmira.
Jensen, a junior, scored a season-best 18 points to help the Warriors improve to 9-3 on the season.
Top male performance
We had some pretty good play on the court Friday night in the boys’ games but I’ll go with Jake Ehlers from Corvallis.
Ehlers scored 23 points in the Spartans’ 56-34 victory over Crescent Valley. Corvallis is off to a 2-0 start in the conference.
